K-P ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

TOGETHER WE MAKE A DIFFERENCE

#kpstrong

Welcome to K–P Elementary! Our learning community serves students in kindergarten through 4th grade in Kingsley, with grades 9–12 sharing the same campus. We are proud to offer a supportive environment where every child has meaningful opportunities to learn, grow, and succeed.

Our academic program includes guided reading, mathematics, science using the FOSS (Full Option Science System) curriculum, writing, spelling, and social studies, along with a variety of enriching subjects. In addition, students participate in music, art, and physical education at least once each week, helping to support their creativity and overall well-being.

Technology is an exciting and integral part of learning at K–P Elementary. Thanks to district investments and grants, our classrooms are equipped with Chromebooks, reliable Wi-Fi, and other tools that enhance instruction and expand opportunities for our students.

The kids also have music, art, and physical education at least once a week.  Our students and staff are excited about technology and its integration across the curriculum.  Grants and investments from the district in chrome books, WI-FI systems, and other technologies have been evident and are benefiting our kids.

Students at K–P Elementary enjoy a wide range of memorable experiences throughout the year. Highlights include our annual Grandparents’ Day in the fall, kindergarten Read-Ins where families join us in the classroom, an elementary spring track meet, and two music concerts—featuring our special Kindergarten Graduation. Educational field trips also enrich learning, with visits to places like the Omaha Zoo, museums, conservation areas, and interpretive centers.

Each day, our students benefit from innovative teaching strategies and targeted support both in the classroom and through specialized programs such as Talented and Gifted, Title I Reading, Reading Recovery, and the Resource Room. Students are also encouraged to participate in engaging school-wide activities and challenges, including Accelerated Reader, Jump Rope for Heart in physical education, community-focused efforts like our Food Drive, and the Box Tops challenge held twice each year.

Our curriculum is aligned with the Iowa Core and is continually reviewed and enhanced to meet the evolving needs of our students. We are grateful for the strong support of our families and the communities of Kingsley and Pierson, whose involvement—especially through events like the annual Panther Ball fundraiser—helps strengthen our school.

Above all, our highly qualified elementary teachers create a positive, engaging environment guided by our mission: “Excellence in Education!”

Go Panthers!
